The Dark Room at The Grandel is an enchanting dining experience located at 3610 Grandel Square in St. Louis. It pairs exquisite cuisine with captivating live jazz, creating a unique ambiance perfect for both intimate dinners and lively gatherings. Diners rave about dishes like the 12 Oz. New York Strip Steak and the lemon-brined chicken breast, which reflect a commitment to quality and flavor. Patrons, such as Mary Foshage, celebrate the standout smoked salmon eggs Benedict, praising its rich hollandaise and perfectly cooked eggs, complemented by a fresh salad. The venue’s atmosphere is enhanced by dim lighting and an inviting vibe, noted by Jessica Wiley during a recent visit for a live show. Despite not dining that evening, she admired the strong whiskey mules and warm service from the bartenders. Evelyn Marie echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the superb food and exceptional live performances, which keep the energy vibrant and memorable. With support from talented artists and a friendly staff, TiKeysha Barnhart appreciates the increased visits due to the venue's evolving music program. Had the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and it was some of the best hollandaise sauce I’ve had in a long time, so rich with flavor. The eggs were cooked wonderfully and the fresh salad was a nice compliment. The music was great and the server did a good job considering she was left high and dry that day. Brunched with the ladies, but can’t wait to bring the husband back for Round 2.

Went for the Rocky Maverick show 10/16 and it was my first time on this side of the venue. I walked in and the guy who greeted me looked at the digital ticket, then led to my seat. I just love the ambiance and the lighting makes it so much more intimate. I didn't eat food, but definitely ordered a couple of whiskey mules that were strong and delicious! Shout out to Louis(the bartender) for his professionalism, but still able to mingle with partrons and bartend properly! Bathrooms were super clean, but inconveniently on the lower level lolbvs. I gotta say Rocky Maverick and his band left us with an experience to last a lifetime and I look forward to attending more shows.

Food was great, the vocalist (Anita Jackson) was amazing, along with her band. We went there based off of someone's recommendation and could not have been more pleased!

I've been going for years, but the frequency has increased thanks to their partnership with The Townsend Agency. There are some fabulous musicians and artists that come through this space, great bartenders, and the vibes cannot be beat.

Really delicious brunch food. Dined here for dinner one night after the symphony @ Powell Hall (in walking distance) and didn't have a reservation but was seated ASAP. The live band (jazz) was really great! There's also an upstairs for reservations (parties, events, etc.). I would recommend The Dark Room for a date night or just a night out. Definitely worth it.

Very cool event space. I have attended the Wednesday Night Jazz Jam a couple of times in the last few months. I will, for sure, be back soon.
